Changing History

The Butterfly Effect reminds us that small changes at any given moment, will often reverberate into the future as a tsunami of transformation. Whenever we change the life of another person, or modify the environment, we alter the future.

In working with elders, I remind them that Neil Postman once said, “Children are the living messages we send to a future we will not see.” Throughout history, children learn from their parents how to live their lives, but they learn wisdom from their grandparents. “You are the ‘wisdom keepers’ of this generation,” I remind them, “and your wisdom can change the course of human history. The young people in your lives are often at risk, so reach out and tell them you love them and care about them.”
